Pre-Raphaelite/Medieval Couture Bridal Gowns |
"Raffaella" (Celtic knots) |
|
|
|
Inspired by the Pre-Raphaelite paintings of John William Waterhouse, this Mediaeval-style wedding dress, based on the original "Raffaella" design, is constructed in white silk with cobalt blue contrasts and silver embroidery. It has fitted ruched chiffon undersleeves with button detailing
at the wrist. These are revealed beneath classic trumpet-shaped 'medieval' sleeves, lined in crepe satin. The flat-fronted A-line skirt with a volume of fabric gathered into the
back flatters both the slimmest and more shapely brides. Contrasting piped detailing (here in black satin
) can be used to emphasise the sleeve and neckline edges.
It is possible to construct this gown in many fabrics, patterned and plain - duchesse satin, brocade, damask, dupion, velvet, zibilene, etc. The design can be kept streamlined and tailored, or embellished at the neckline, waistline or cuffs.

To order: The "Raffaella" design is £2100 to construct.
Your choice of fabric from our vast range will add from between £150 to £500, depending on type - silk dupion, damask, brocade etc
This design can be varied and individualised to each made-to-measure order. |
