Tutus are designed and cut to flatter the dancer, according to age and stature. We take adequate time to choose appropriate colours, embellishment and to establish skirt lengths and numbers of layers, relative to height. (It is very easy to overpower a small dancer with too much costume!)
Besides working with professional performers, Theresa has trained to an advanced level of ballet (BBO, RAD & ISTD, Morley College) and therefore thoroughly understands the rigours and punishments costumes have to survive. She realises where dance costumes need to stretch and recover, and how to prevent any hindrances to spine, leg and arm movement. Rossetti tutus are made from non-stretch or stretch fabrics (or a mixture of both) according to taste and requirements.
Pratice tutu (A "proper" hooped tutu, but with basque and
skirts only. No bodice; no decoration) - £350
Undecorated classical tutu
with bodice piping and light boning - £480 - £550 (Click on "Basic Classical Tutu" on Index Page).
Fully decorated classical tutu - £550
to £650. A typical average for an amateur competition tutu is £600.

Above prices are averages:
requests for special fabrics, eg. lace top skirts can increase the price.
Rossetti will provide a quote after the initial consultation, during which we will have worked out exactly what you require.
All costumes are individually ordered, designed and made-to-measure to the highest professional standards. The tutus shown on this site are only a guide to what is possible. You are only limited by your imagination!
As an exception to the current Made-to-Measure service, we do plan to prepare a stock of ready-made tutus. They will be shown on this site as soon as they are available. It will still be necessary to visit to try the costume on.
To date, Theresa has constructed (or designed/constructed) ballet costumes, headresses, and tutus for Odile, Odette, Princess Florine, Cinderella, Swanilda, Sugar Plum Fairy, Coppélia, Raymonda, Aurora, Lilac Fairy, Crystal Fountain Fairy, Season Fairies, Oberon, Titania, Cobweb, Moth, Pease-Blossom, Mustard-Seed, Juliet, Lise, Bluebird, Aurora's Friends, Dryads, Cinderella courtiers; for performances of Swan Lake, Cinderella, The Sleeping Beauty, Sylvia, The Dream, La Fille Mal Gardée, Don Quixote, The Nutcracker.
