The William Morris
& Dance Costume
16th and 17th Century
18th and 19th Century
|Joanne's wedding gown incorporated two toning shades of gold silk, highlighted with gold lace on the bodice stomacher and edging the overskirt.|
The gown was constructed as two seperate pieces: a corseted bodice with off-the shoulder sleeves and a seperate cartridge-pleated skirt. They were actually partly stitched together to be worn as a dress.
|Grateful thanks are due to Joanne for the beautiful photos of her Devon wedding, above and below.|
The gown's Tudor/contemporary feel was inspired by authentic historical costume and also by such films as "La Reine Margot".
